Zork was a game i used to play on my first generation Mac. It was a sort of Dungeons & Dragons themed text based game. Mac’s were funny in 1984 because they had a ‘mouse’ which looked like a little mouse with a tail and one button on top which allowed you to use a ‘pointer’ to get around your ‘desktop’ and open certain programs like ‘MacPaint’ and ‘Zork’. Ironically, the best game for Mac was Zork, which didn’t use the ‘mouse’ because it was all text. There was a spinoff of Zork called ‘The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy’ where you could enter the world of ‘The Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy’ as Arthur Dent and listen to Vogon Poetry and chat with Zaphod Beeblebrox. Now its 2026 and there is Ai! So anyone can make your own spinoff of Zork like i did yesterday and into this afternoon. Zorkfeld starts in Jerry Seinfeld’s apartment in NYC and its a lot of fun, I hope you’ll give it a spin:
